Perhaps the most common failure on your GR6 transmission, the fluid pressure sensors. You’ll be driving around, enjoying your day, gapping people from light to light without issue when BAM! One of your three pressure sensors decides not to report back clutch or line pressure. When your TCM does not know a pressure value, it will shut down the A or B clutch, or simply decide not to move at all in an attempt to protect itself from resulting damage.
Some commonly reported symptoms are:
- Shifts fine when cold, malfunctions when hot
- Only odd gears are available
- Only even gears are available
- Very harsh shifts up or down
Until now, it was very difficult to find a direct OEM sensor. Several manufacturers have made replicas that have and have not performed well. There are 3 sensors total, inside your GR6. If you have a clutch pressure sensor failure, we will always recommend replacing BOTH A and B pressure sensors, as they are quite difficult to access – Complete transmission removal and front case disassembly to access. The line pressure sensor is much easier to access by dropping the transmission pan and valve body from the vehicle
Rest assured, this is a genuine Nissan sensor that will perform reliably for years to come.
If you are unsure of your failure, please contact us directly to email a log for us to take a look at. We can also perform the sensor replacement in house at our Gilbert, AZ repair shop
