When upgrading your R35 Nissan GTR GR6 transmission, it is wise to install a stronger mid plate. The OEM midplate is cast aluminum and not braced very well. With added power comes added stress – your input and output shafts are supported by this midplate, and will try to push away from each other under heavy load. Over time this can cause uneven gear wear, bearing failure, and even catastrophic gear or midplate failure.
